A Message from the Superintendent
Welcome to the McCabe Union Elementary School District. I am proud and honored to serve this wonderful community and to work alongside dedicated staff who care deeply about our students. Together, we are committed to providing rigorous and engaging instruction, supportive learning environments, and opportunities that help every student grow, succeed, and feel valued at school.
About the Superintendent
Ms. Monson has dedicated more than 25 years to public education in California, serving in a wide range of instructional and administrative leadership roles. She began her work in education as a classroom teacher and later expanded her leadership in literacy as a Reading First Coach and Curriculum Coordinator.
Throughout her career, she developed extensive experience as a school administrator, serving as a principal at the elementary, middle school, and Community Day School levels, as well as Cafeteria Administrator. Prior to joining the McCabe Union Elementary School District, she served as the Director of Special Education for the San Pasqual Valley Unified School District.
Ms. Monson began serving as Superintendent of the McCabe Union Elementary School District in 2023 and is proud and honored to serve the McCabe community. Her leadership focuses on strengthening academic outcomes while fostering safe, supportive, and socially enriching school environments where students feel connected, valued, and empowered to learn. She believes strong schools are built by developing leaders at every level and by recognizing the important role every staff member plays in supporting students. From transportation and child nutrition staff to instructional staff, counselors, office staff, and administrators, each person contributes to the success and well-being of the children the district serves.
Ms. Monson believes every student deserves access to rigorous, engaging instruction in every classroom and is committed to ensuring that schools maintain high expectations while providing the support students need to succeed.
“I believe every student deserves access to rigorous and engaging instruction in every classroom. When schools set high expectations, support one another, and recognize the important role every staff member plays, from transportation and child nutrition to instructional and support staff, we create learning environments where students feel valued, challenged, and inspired to succeed.”
Under Ms. Monson’s leadership, the district remains focused on strengthening student outcomes, fostering a positive school culture, and expanding opportunities that empower every student to reach their full potential.
