FOOD SERVICES DEPT – The Income Eligibility Scale for the 2020-2021 school year has been posted on our website:

Parent emails have been sent notifying parents of negative cafeteria balances.  Payments can be made to your child's cafeteria account online through your MySchoolBucks account at using the following methods: credit/debit card or electronic check.  Should you need your child's ID number, please email with the student's name and she'll be happy to send the ID number to you. There will be a $2.49 charge for payments less than $100.  If you have multiple children with a balance due, feel free to make one large online payment and email Jennifer Castillo to have her split the payment between your children.

My School Bucks can also be used to check your child's account activity, set up low balance notifications, and automatic payments.

FAMILY SURVEY re: REOPENING SCHOOL FOR 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR - McCabe is working closely with CDC, CDE, ICPHD, ICOE and other local districts to develop a Roadmap to Recovery with contingency plans that specifically address the dynamics of a school environment.

One of the first and most important questions we need your help answering is: what plans do you have if/when it is safe for our schools to begin re-opening for on-campus learning? We understand that each person and family may have a unique situation, health status, and comfort level that we need to be ready to support.

This brief, but important survey will help guide us as we consider staffing needs and design teaching and learning models, either in person in a classroom, online in a virtual classroom, or a combination of both, called Blended Learning.

We are asking that ALL FAMILIES take our short survey by Monday, June 1st at 5pm.

The survey takes just a few minutes. If you have multiple children enrolled in the McCabe Union Elementary School District, you will only need to take this survey once.

We understand that the COVID-19 situation will continue to evolve. As such, this is the first of two surveys we will be asking you to take. The second one will be sent later this summer.

YEARBOOKS:  Josten’s is hoping to ship yearbooks mid-late June.  Once they have arrived, we will notify families by email when to pick up pre-ordered yearbooks.  ALL yearbook orders were online only and the window to place online orders closed the end of February.  There will be no additional yearbooks for purchase.

REIMBURSEMENTS: Reimbursements for missed fieldtrips have been mailed out to parents.  We still have a few Catalina reimbursements that were not picked up on May 30th.  Those reimbursements will be mailed out, so watch for them in your mailbox.

TK & KINDER REGISTRATION – Online registration for new and returning Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Traditional Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year has begun!

At this time, only STEP 1 of the registration process is necessary.  Due to the current COVID-19 school closures, STEP 2 will be postponed until our district office reopens to the public.  At that time, our staff will review your submission and generate an email notification with further instructions.

To register a new or returning TK or Kinder student, please visit our website at and look for the “TK/Kinder Registration” bubble in the top-left corner of our home page for links and instructions.  Should you have questions or issues with your registration, please email us at for assistance.

STEP 2 - Providing the child’s birth certificate, immunizations, and allowable proofs of residency for the parents will be at a later date.  See link to allowable proofs of residency below.

4th QUARTER GRADES - Students’ grades shall not be harmed due to Distance Learning. Teachers shall assign final grades based on students’ 3rd quarter grades with opportunities to increase the 4th quarter final grades based on the student’s effort and progress.

Again, we appreciate our McCabe families for their continued support.  Our administrative team and teaching staff continue to work from home but are available via email should you have questions or issues with any of the links we have provided.  Teacher emails may be found under the “Schools” tab.  Click on “Staff” in each grade level for email addresses.

Should you have any questions or needs during the office closure, feel free to email Becky Gibbs at
