7th Grade Awards Ceremony, Friday 11/13

7th grade students ended their instructional day with a virtual awards ceremony to celebrate those who earned Honor Roll and Principal's List for the first quarter of the 2020-2021 school year. Click the heading above to view screenshots of the ceremony.

Day 1 of Red Ribbon Spirit Week - Wear Red

California Border Patrol Red Ribbon Student Video

Each year the California Border Patrol agency visits our students during Red Ribbon Week to reinforce the importance of staying drug-free. This year they have provided a short video for teachers to share with their students. Click the heading above to view the video!

ICOE Monte Vista Park Community Engagement Meeting

ICOE's Foundation for Education is applying for a grant to help build the Monte Vista Park on McCabe Road and Sperber Road, West of the Imperial County Office of Education in El Centro.

Parent Conference Week - November 2-6

Parent conferences will be held virtually this year. M, 11/2 will be a full day. T, 11/3-F, 11/6 will be minimum days. Dismissal for minimum days during Distance Learning will be at your child's lunch time and may vary by student and/or grade.

Wi-fi Hotspot

If your child needs internet support to complete assignments, we now have wi-fi support in the Corfman parking lot daily between the hours of 7AM-7PM!!

Wi-fi parking spots are the spaces closest to the gym. Contact the McCabe District Office at (760) 335-5200 for a Username and Password to log on.

The McCabe staff took to the streets for their first McCabe Parade!

The McCabe staff and administration started their day early on March 31st as they began to parade through the streets of El Centro while waving and honking to the cheers of their students (and emotionally tearful parents) as they stood outside of their homes with signs and chalked driveways. Even Leo the Lion and the El Centro Police Department took park in the excitement! Thank you to our McCabe community for your support while we all continue to practice social distancing. 1st Grade Parent Email re: Distance Learning Resources

Good Morning 1st Grade McCabe Families, In light of the school closure due to the COVID-19 virus, we have met as a team to assemble resources that will provide opportunities for your children to continue their education through distance learning. Please see attachments at the bottom of this email for Think Central login information as well as a list of resources in What To Do During School Closure. During this time, our administrative team and teaching staff are available to help facilitate your child's learning. If you need us for any reason we are available by email and will respond to you as soon as possible. Teacher email addresses can be found on the 1st Grade web page under the "Schools" tab.

Distance Learning Now Available!

The McCabe Union Elementary School District has assembled an array of resources to engage students, including English Learners, Gifted Learners, and Students with Disabilities in distance learning. The resources posted on our website are intended to support parents, guardians, and families with access to high-quality educational opportunities for students to continue their learning at home during the COVID-19 school closure. Parent Email re: Joint Notice of Countywide Closure of All Public Schools

The McCabe Union Elementary School District is committed to keeping our families up-to-date with information on COVID-19 as we receive guidance from the California Department of Public Health, Imperial County Public Health Department, and Imperial County Office of Education. After long and careful deliberation, and in collaboration with other surrounding districts, we have determined it is best to temporarily close our schools to protect the health and well-being of our students and staff as we try to help slow the spread of COVID-19. All Imperial County schools will be closed from Monday, March 17 through Friday April 17, 2020. We will continue to keep you informed as we receive guidance from public health officials and the Imperial County Office of Education. Continue to watch for email notifications and website updates.
